Life verse:
Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."

You see, I can’t do all things, but I can do all things which God has for me to do from the time He saved me to the time He will take me out of this world. It is all from Him, through Him and to Him be the glory. Amen.
Walk this day in the strength that Jesus provides.

Pastor Bruce Bender

Bruce has a heart for those confined to living in nursing homes. Weekly he visits, teaches and prays with many he calls friends. We are truly blessed to have Bruce stalwart committed man of God.

Bruce is a Iwo Jima war veteran and a retired U.S. Marine, who also serves as Chaplain with Armor of Light Ministries at Camp Pendleton. Major Bruce Bender, shares how he and his men were pinned down on the beach in a trench made by a 16- inch battleship shell in World War II. With bullets flying from every direction, he came face to face with the realization that despite all his military training, his only hope for deliverance was Jesus Christ.

He shared, "I closed my eyes and started to pray. I asked the Lord for protection but also
for the strength and courage for my men to complete their mission." Major Bender felt
a warm breeze cover him and a hand on his shoulder. He sensed he heard the Lord’s
voice say, "My son, my precious son, be not afraid for I am with you."

Minister Bill DeLannoy

Bill DeLannoy joined Amazing Grace Ministries in 2008
Willem (Bill) DeLannoy

Born in the former Dutch East Indies, Bill’s parents were Belgian-Indonesian and German descent. Bill’s “mother” tongue is Dutch, and he speaks German, English and is familiar with Afrikaans, French, Russian, Italian and Indonesian. His interest and heart for missions began almost from the day of his commitment of faith in Jesus Christ in 1977. He continues to have a passion to see the name of Jesus made known in the world around him as well as the world at large.
He began taking missions trips in 1983, to Poland (Eastern Europe), which were followed by subsequent trips. Bill and wife Sharon lived in Germany as full-time missionaries for 3 years 1986-89. His commitment was to take the concept of Small Groups ministry to the suffering church behind the Iron Curtain. They implemented the Colossians 2:7 format for lay people in Romania, E. Germany and Yugoslavia and Poland. He has subsequently traveled to over 15 countries, on missionary projects. His life verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all yur hear, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.

Pastor David Lyon

Pastor of the Lord Dave visits Orange County Nursing homes each week and sees residents and patients in their own rooms.  "I enjoy the personal time together sharing Scripture, answering questions, providing devotionals, and praying with these wonderful people.  It is inspiring to me to see how they handle the loneliness and difficulties in their lives."

Dave has been serving in the New Believers ministry at his church since 2002 helping seekers and new believers, and served in his church's Children's Prison Ministry of Tijuana for several years.  A local Tijuana ministry has now taken over that service.

Since 2005 he has worked with a clothing ministry providing clothing and personal items to the homeless in Orange County.  The Christian Witnesses Ministry in which he serves reaches out to the unsaved in a variety of places to bring them the Good News of the Gospel.

Another ministry works to provide supplies to send in care packages to our military personnel overseas.  Many times personal items or comfort items are difficult to find in the remote or semi-remote locations in which they defend us.

As a member of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, he brings the Lord to victims of natural disasters to help them cope with their losses such as in the fires we have had in the Southern California areas.

Dave has also authored successful gospel tracts designed to provide a complete presentation from conviction, to salvation, to discipleship.

  • Dave joined AGM in August 2006

Judy Kane - Office Administrator

Judy is in the office part time, and also in the Orange County Nursing Homes weekly, where   she conducts a Bible Study.  " I see what comfort each resident gets when we spend time together in worship and studying the Scripture.  For many this is a highlight of their week."

Judy is working diligently on getting Shepherd's Rest built and ready for visitors.

Minister Michael Wessel

Michael joined Amazing Grace in 2008.  We are fortunate to have him part time teaching in several nursing homes around Orange County. Michael’s demeanor is warm and caring and his messages are consistent, strong and clear as he always shares his heart while preaching the Word.

Michael came to faith in Jesus Christ in 1985 and serves as a Deacon at Life Church in Irvine, CA. Michael is blessed with a beautiful wife and an adorable 7 year old daughter. In addition to serving the elderly in Orange County, Michael and his wife Jhayne are the co-founders of The Wealth of Nations Foundation, an outreach to at risk teens in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Michael is blessed with a beautiful wife and an adorable 7 year old daughter.

Michael feels privileged to minister hope to the elderly and holds true to his heart that no one should be forgotten. Psalm 71:9:  "Do not cast me away when I am old, do not forsake me when my strength is gone."
Michael is very optimistic and his favorite verse is Matthew 19:26: "Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Brian Harmon,
Minister of the Gospel

Brian has been serving AGM since June 2009.  He visits homes for the elderly playing the clarinet, singing, loving, and talking about what Jesus did on the cross and how we can know Him.

Brian firmly believes Jesus' promise that what we have done 'for the least of these,' we have done for him. "Music lifts the sprits ..." While attending the Calvary school of Ministry Brian ministry training led him into serving the elderly. Amazing Grace Ministries is honored to have Brian’s upbeat spirit, and tenderness for the needy.

Brian is married and is a professor of economics at a local community college.
